Industry and Research Access

WestLink understands that accelerating technology commercialization requires the exchange of expertise from various professionals along the innovation spectrum. WestLink is committed to developing programs and services that provide facilitated access to the skills, innovations and professionals needed to transition newly developed ideas to the marketplace. By working in partnership with WestLink, research and industry professionals can find ways to co-develop and implement commercialization strategies to achieve individual goals and ultimately, strengthen the Western Canadian economy.

For industry, WestLink offers focused commercialization training, technology development, and guided access to a network of experienced technology professionals from both academia and our Mentor and Advisor Pool. Our programs and services connect industry with the appropriate research professionals to save time and satisfy industry needs. WestLink provides access and referral to our 33 research members’ expertise, technical capacity, and new innovations resulting from the over $1.5 billion in research conducted annually on their campuses.

For research members, WestLink presents access to a diverse network of specialized advisors and mentors, industry and finance connections, and commercialization expertise. Academia can connect with the growing roster of technology leaders who support WestLink’s programs and provide advice for commercialization projects. Through targeted programs and services, we act as a gateway to link academic members with industry expertise and research capacity to industry professionals.
