WestLink facilitates linkages between our research members and industry to efficiently exchange knowledge, expertise and technology opportunities.  WestLink works to connect research members with the right industry professionals to meet technology commercialization goals. We do not replace the significant industry liaison and commercialization work of our individual member organizations. Rather, our objective is to facilitate the communication and collaboration within the commercialization community and between academia and research to help enhance existing initiatives and capacity. WestLink provides a range of opportunities for academia to engage peers and industry around important issues and emerging trends in technology transfer.

WestLinks strong ongoing collaborations with industry, finance, and government can enhance your connection to commercialization business partners, including world class leaders available through the Advisory and Mentor Pool. For developing offices, WestLink can assist in identifying best practices for technology transfer and applied research office development. Through direct industry referrals, forums, and sector knowledge, connect with local, national, and international companies and expand your industry outreach initiatives. 

Commercialization Training

WestLink offers specialized training in technology commercialization through a variety of programs.  Institutional Members can work with WestLink to access quality training for your staff, find and ‘test drive’ new employees, or update your commercialization skills. Whether you’re hosting a high-quality Technology Commercialization Intern or you want to increase your technology commercialization knowledge, WestLink provides the opportunity for academia to collaborate with our network of technology commercialization experts. You can also co-deliver commercialization and intellectual property course modules with WestLink to offer specialized training to your employees, increase outreach to stakeholders, or build skills within your research / inventor community.
